T.E.A.C.H.® is a national research-based program that provides scholarships for child care providers to pursue an Early Childhood Education associate degree.
T.E.A.C.H. strives to:
- Increase the education levels and salaries of child care providers because:
- Virginia pays the nation's lowest hourly wage to child care staff.
- Reduce turnover to provide a more stable and enriching environment for children because:
- 76% of children younger than age 6 live with working parents and spend substantial time with child care providers.
