The Square One Electronic Prevention and Early Intervention Message Board was created to provide educators, early care providers, home visitors and caregivers with increased access to research and resources to enhance children's early development. Early care providers interested in prevention and early intervention are invited to use this message board as a vehicle to network with caregivers and professionals while sharing educational resources, networking opportunities and the chance to learn and grow together.
The E-PEI Message Board is divided into the following subcategories for early childhood professionals and parents who share an interest related to Square One’s mission of ensuring that all children enter school healthy and ready to learn and succeed. Square One’s E-PEI Message Board subcategories include:
- Caregivers
- Increase communication among parents of young children by providing a means by which they may share new research, creative strategies, triumphs and concerns.
- Early Childhood Providers
- Facilitate communication with early childcare professionals and parents by creating opportunities for sharing of best practices and creative strategies.
- Family Child Care
- Enhance communication, support and involvement among family child care providers by sharing best practices, creative strategies and opportunities for professional development.
- General
- Provide forum to communicate research, strategies and questions related to early childhood.
- Health and Safety
- Increase awareness of health and safety issues in home- and center-based childcare settings. Provide a means by which early childhood professionals may share research and creative strategies to address health and safety issues.
- Home Visitors
- Facilitate communication among home visitors by creating opportunities to share best practices and creative solutions to ethical concerns.
- Play and Interaction
- Enhance communication about the importance of play as it relates to attachment and development. Provide opportunity for sharing of research, creative strategies and best practices among educators, care providers, researchers and parents.
- Professional Development
- Increase awareness about training opportunities to enhance best practices in early childhood.
- Research and Practice
- Facilitate communication about current research and best practices in early childhood to strengthen connections between data and interaction.
